Tinker Foundation grants
The Latin American and Caribbean Area Studies Program is pleased to announce that it will grant Tinker Foundation awards to support summer field research for thesis or doctoral research projects in Latin America. MA and Ph.D. students in Binghamton University are encouraged to apply. The purpose of the award is to provide students with the opportunity to gather preliminary data, make contacts and negotiate institutional affiliations, assess project feasibility, identify key topics, and increase competitiveness of future proposals for funding. The awards are competitive and proposals are judged on the basis of i) quality of the proposed research, ii) organization and thoughtfulness of the proposal, and iii) appropriateness and feasibility of the research plan in relation to the student's background and qualifications.
